Cowboys Eye Jack Jones to Fill Jourdan Lewis’ Void

Posted on April 7, 2025 by admin

The Dallas Cowboys are exploring options to replace veteran cornerback Jourdan Lewis, who recently signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Lewis, a key component of Dallas’ secondary since 2017, left a significant gap in the team’s defense.

One potential candidate to fill this void is Jack Jones, formerly of the Las Vegas Raiders. Jones has demonstrated notable playmaking abilities on the field, recording 27 pass defenses and seven interceptions over 42 career games, with four of those interceptions returned for touchdowns. However, his career has been marred by off-field issues, including a 2023 arrest for possession of a concealed weapon and ammunition at an airport.

While Jones has primarily played as an outside cornerback, his versatility allows him to adapt to the slot position, making him a viable option for the Cowboys as they seek to bolster their secondary.
