Steve McMichael’s Health: Clarifying Misinformation Amidst His Ongoing Battle with ALS

Posted on April 7, 2025 by admin

Recent reports have circulated claiming that Steve McMichael, the former Chicago Bears defensive lineman, has passed away. However, as of April 7, 2025, these reports are unsubstantiated. McMichael, affectionately known as “Mongo,” has been courageously battling Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) since his diagnosis in 2021.

In February 2024, McMichael faced significant health challenges, including hospitalization due to a urinary tract infection and subsequent diagnosis of MRSA, a type of staph infection resistant to certain antibiotics. Despite these hurdles, he responded well to treatment and was discharged from the hospital.

It’s crucial to approach such sensitive news with caution and rely on verified sources. As of now, no credible reports confirm the passing of Steve McMichael. Fans and the NFL community continue to support him during his ongoing health journey.
