Green Bay Packers Biggest Remaining Draft Needs

Posted on March 24, 2025 by admin

The Green Bay Packers have been one of the most consistently successful NFL franchises of the 21st century. In the last 25 years, they have only posted five losing records. How does Green Bay continue to compete? They hit on draft picks. Draft steals like David Bakhtiari and Davantae Adams have kept this roster among the best in football. The Packers have made some important moves in free agency, but they will look to the draft to fill their remaining needs.

Green Bay Packers Draft Needs

Wide Receiver

Running back Josh Jacobs said it himself. The Packers offense is in need of a star-caliber wide receiver. Players like Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Dontayvion Wicks have been reliable targets for Jordan Love, but none of them have made the leap to become a true star.

LOUIS RIDDICK ON SHEDEUR SANDERS

The Packers front office may feel that their existing group of receivers is enough to field a functional offense. However, this team would benefit from adding a pass catcher with high potential in the middle rounds of the draft. TCU wideout Savion Williams could be a versatile weapon for Green Bay with the potential to become a primary option.

Cornerback

Jaire Alexander is likely on his way out of Green Bay. Even if he stays with the team, Alexander has struggled to stay healthy in recent seasons. The Packers signed Nate Hobbs in free agency, but Hobbs has primarily played in the slot throughout his career. Green Bay should target a true boundary corner in the early rounds of this year’s draft.

Shavon Revel out of East Carolina is an athletic cornerback with great ball skills who could be available at the end of the first round due to questions about his current injury status. Revel could start out in a rotation at outside corner, with the intention of building into a full-time role.

Edge Defender

The Packers draft needs, for the most part, relate to roster depth. Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness are both functional edge defenders. However, Green Bay could benefit greatly from adding another man to their edge rotation.

This draft class is stocked full of productive pass rushers at all positions along the defensive front. The Packers could choose to fill other draft needs with their top picks and target a pass rusher with high upside in the middle rounds.

After one warning in a game, the team precipitating the warning will be issued a bench minor penalty for future violations.
