Breaking: Done deal!! Cubs Officially Add Record-breaking Top Hitting Prospect to Roster

Posted on May 15, 2025 by admin

Wrigleyville is buzzing today—because the future is here.

In a move that fans have been eagerly awaiting for months, the Chicago Cubs have officially called up top hitting prospect Elijah “EJ” Ramos, the 21-year-old phenom who has been rewriting record books in the minor leagues. The announcement came early this morning, and it’s already sending shockwaves through the baseball world.

This isn’t just a routine promotion. It’s a statement.

A Historic Minor League Run

Ramos, the Cubs’ No. 1 overall prospect and currently ranked No. 3 in all of baseball, has put together one of the most jaw-dropping starts to a minor league season in recent memory. In just 34 games with Triple-A Iowa, Ramos posted a .412 batting average, 17 home runs, 49 RBIs, and a staggering 1.352 OPS. Those are video game numbers.

And now, Cubs fans will get to see him do it under the bright lights of Wrigley Field.

“The Kid’s Ready”

President of Baseball Operations Jed Hoyer made the announcement official this morning:

> “Elijah has earned this. He’s been unstoppable at every level, and more importantly, he’s shown maturity, leadership, and an incredible work ethic. We believe he’s ready—not just to be here, but to make an impact.”

Manager Craig Counsell echoed the sentiment, calling Ramos “the most exciting bat we’ve seen come through this organization in a long time.”

A Star in the Making

Ramos, who was drafted out of high school in 2022, has quickly ascended through the Cubs’ farm system, drawing comparisons to legends like Ken Griffey Jr. and Ronald Acuña Jr. His combination of raw power, lightning-quick bat speed, and plate discipline has scouts drooling. He also brings speed and a rocket arm in the outfield—he’s a true five-tool player.

And yes, he’s only 21.

Cubs Fans React

Cubs Twitter exploded within seconds of the announcement. One fan wrote,

> “Is this what it felt like when Bryant got called up? Because this feels even bigger.”

Another said,

> “I don’t care what my boss says—I’m skipping work to go to Wrigley. EJ Ramos Day is a holiday now.”

Ticket sales surged within the hour. Ramos is expected to make his MLB debut tonight, batting second and starting in right field against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Big Picture: Is This the Spark?

The Cubs are off to a hot start in 2025, currently sitting just 1.5 games behind the Brewers in the NL Central. With a young, exciting core and a refreshed pitching staff, Chicago looks like a team ready to make serious noise. Ramos’s arrival could be the missing piece—a superstar bat to ignite a second-half surge and give fans legitimate World Series dreams.

This is no longer a rebuild. This is a revolution.

Stay tuned tonight. Baseball in Chicago just got electric. And if Ramos is anything like what we’ve seen so far?

The North Side might just belong to him
