Justin Steele said it best: “PCA is your MVP. Get over it.” And he’s right. Because

In the age of big contracts, endless speculation, and ever-changing MVP narratives, it can be easy to overlook what’s happening right in front of us. But not this time. Because Justin Steele, one of the toughest and most respected voices in the Cubs clubhouse, summed it up in six words that lit a fire across baseball Twitter: “PCA is your MVP. Get over it.”

And honestly? He’s absolutely right.

Pete Crow-Armstrong—PCA—is no longer just a top prospect or a tantalizing talent. He’s become the defining player of the Chicago Cubs’ 2025 season. From jaw-dropping catches that rob home runs at the warning track to game-winning hits in the late innings, PCA is doing it all. And he’s doing it with the kind of swagger that Wrigley hasn’t seen since the golden days of Bryant and Baez.

It’s rare to see a rookie burst onto the scene with this kind of impact. Even rarer to watch him take over games with the confidence of a 10-year vet. But Crow-Armstrong isn’t waiting for permission. He’s already running the show. And opposing teams are scrambling to figure out how to stop him.

Through the first 60 games of the season, PCA is slashing an eye-popping .315/.387/.531 with 12 home runs, 41 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases. Defensively, he’s been an absolute menace in center field—tracking down fly balls that have no business being caught, all while showing off a cannon for an arm that’s already notched five outfield assists.

Statheads and analysts are scrambling to update their MVP projections because PCA isn’t just in the conversation—he’s leading it. His WAR is climbing fast. His clutch stats are off the charts. And his consistency is making him the heartbeat of a Cubs team that has legitimate playoff aspirations.

The media, naturally, is still catching up. National writers still seem fixated on the usual suspects—Juan Soto, Mookie Betts, Ronald Acuña Jr. But those who watch the Cubs every day know better. The players know better. And Justin Steele made it crystal clear: this kid is the real deal.

“You can’t measure what PCA brings with just numbers,” Steele added after his now-famous quote. “It’s the energy, the hustle, the way he forces pitchers into mistakes and inspires the dugout. He makes us all better.”

Manager Craig Counsell echoed the sentiment, saying PCA has been a “game-changer” in every sense of the word. “He’s a spark plug. A leader already. When he’s on the field, we feel like we can beat anybody.”

There’s a sense that something special is brewing on the North Side. Not just a good season, but the start of something bigger. And right at the center of it all is a 23-year-old phenom who isn’t afraid of the spotlight. In fact, he’s thriving in it.

So yes, Justin Steele said it best. PCA is your MVP. Get over it. And maybe it’s time for the rest of the league to stop sleeping on Pete Crow-Armstrong. Because Wrigley Field has found its new star—and his name will be etched into the future of Chicago Cubs baseball for a long, long time.

The MVP chants have already started echoing in the bleachers. And if this is just the beginning, then the league better buckle up.

Because PCA isn’t just here to play. He’s here to dominate.
