Tom Brady’s Raiders can’t afford to pass on superstar RB Ashton Jeanty

Posted on March 24, 2025 by admin

A new era for the Raiders can begin in the best way, not only with the arrival of characters like Pete Carroll and John Spytek in positions of utmost importance, but also with the decisions they make at the time of choosing in the NFL Draft.

On the horizon is a sea of opportunities that can either be the path to success or sink a franchise with a single selection, but now in the cast of players who are eligible there is one that is drawing a lot of attention.

Ashton Jeanty to the Raiders? A superstar in the draft

According to several U.S. media, the selection of former Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty is a wise move to gain popularity and affection among a loyal fan base that has been hit by the results of the last few seasons.

Jeanty by himself is an inviting piece to Allegiant Stadium and along with Brock Bowers can change the future of the franchise.

He is for many the best running back of the generation, in addition to being one of the top overall picks in the Draft, and to the Raiders’ fortune he should be available when they have the sixth overall pick.

A mistake not to take him in the draft

If Ashton Jeanty is available, take him. The position is once again regaining its importance within the game’s schemes and is certainly what every franchise running back should have. He’s not the biggest, but he’s very strong and hard to tackle.

Whoever was in contention for the Heisman Trophy finished with the second-most career single-season touchdowns behind the legendary Barry Sanders with 2,601, something that allowed Boise State to make the NCAA Playoffs. Jeanty would certainly boost the Raiders’ ground game.

He is a good fit for the Las Vegas team, although they have other, more pressing needs. Jeanty would arrive in Las Vegas and immediately become the team’s best running back.

Having a young running back like Jeanty and a veteran like Raheem Mostert makes the ground game of these Raiders infinitely better than it was in 2024, something Carroll could love in his arrival.

Now, it’s all in the hands of the franchise, but the truth is that it’s hard to think that anyone could pass on the best running back, although anything can happen.
