Ex-NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert made one of the most ridiculous trade suggestions by proposing that the Cowboys trade Dak Prescott, who carries a no-trade clause and a hefty cap hit, to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for former Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt, who aspires to be among the highest-paid athletes in the league.
Watt recently stirred interest by sharing a photo of himself making the peace sign on social media. The puzzling message led many to think he is dissatisfied with the progress of contract negotiations.
Benkert proposes the Cowboys give the offense to Joe Milton III and exchange Dak along with the No. 12 overall pick for Watt and the Steelers’ No. 21 pick.
It is an absurd suggestion that would never succeed. How could the Cowboys manage to pay Micah Parsons as the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league, meet Prescott’s contract, AND give T.J. Watt his desired amount?
