The Pittsburgh Steelers are considered one of the NFL’s most-quarterback needy teams entering the 2025 NFL Draft.

Steelers general manager Omar Khan did little to dispel Pittsburgh as a potential quarterback landing spot during a pre-draft news conference.
Khan opened his joint presser with coach Mike Tomlin by implying the Steelers were still planning to add two more quarterbacks to their roster before camp begins.
“We go to camp with four quarterbacks,” Khan told reporters. “Right now, we have two on the roster. All options are on the table on how we acquire those last two.”
Khan’s comments come as the Steelers continue to be connected with Aaron Rodgers. The 41-year-old veteran visited Pittsburgh after his release from the New York Jets but hasn’t decided whether to play during the 2025 NFL season.
Tomlin was adamant that Pittsburgh’s pursuit of Rodgers would not impact the team’s strategy at quarterback in the draft. Khan’s comments seemingly back that up, as the Steelers would still be searching for a fourth quarterback even if Rodgers joined Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson on Pittsburgh’s roster.
That should put quarterback firmly in play for the Steelers with one of their six draft picks. It may be a matter of whether they want to target an early-round prospect, like Shedeur Sanders or Jaxson Dart, or if they are content to wait on the position until the later rounds or undrafted free agency.
Regardless, one thing is clear about Pittsburgh’s quarterback plans:
“I assure you we’ll have four when we get to Latrobe,” Khan said.
