Last night in the Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals game, there was a very interesting moment. A moment that was both intense and hilarious at the same time.
Former Columbus Blue Jacket Josh Anderson and Tom Wilson got into a scrum at the end of the second period. Within seconds, every player from each bench who was skating to their respective dressing rooms got involved.
Anderson and Wilson have had some tension this entire playoff series and it finally boiled over when they went at each other and fought on the Canadiens’ bench.
Yes, you read that right. Anderson and Wilson were pushing each other and ended up in the empty Canadiens’ bench with just a linesman trying to break it up.
After both players threw punches and shoved each other, it ended up on the ground in the bench where the linesman was able to jump on top of them and eventually break it up.
Everyone, including the broadcast team and intermission panel, talked about how they’ve never seen that before. As I mentioned earlier, it was very intense, it got the fans in the Bell Centre as well as on social media very involved. But at the same time, it was one of the most hilarious things people have seen in a long time during an NHL game.
